Second project meeting, which also marked the completion of the first phase of the project, was organized by our German partner in Hamburg (28-29.11.2013). During this two-day event, members of the project team informed one another of respective developments and presented summaries of country reports. All participants of the meeting therefore had the chance to learn about different (13) occupational health systems, which function within the EU. As expected, there were some stark differences, even in the general approaches towards occupational health- from systems, which are very medically oriented, through ones dominated by primary prevention, up to ones where social participation plays a major part. One common conclusion drawn from these presentations however, was that although the problem of an ageing workforce is high on political agendas of the Member States, it is very seldom and rather poorly reflected in the training curricula for occupational health professionals (OHPs). This finding was particularly relevant in the context of this project, as the ultimate goal of e-CAPACIT8 is not only to systematize existing knowledge, but also provide the OHPs with additional, country and sector specific materials, which address the problem of an ageing workforce.

During the meeting, the partners also shared their early expectations and talked about the possible functionalities of the e-learning platform (a virtual space, where all educational materials will be eventually placed). As it is normally the practice, final part of the meeting focused on the more 'technical issues' of project execution (evaluation and management).
